Not a Baby Anymore

Cyrus turns one next week! I can't believe how fast it's gone. It seems like it wasn't that long ago that we were spending Easter in the hospital with a brand new baby. But then I look at the latest pictures we've taken of him, and it's amazing how much older he looks. He's getting so big. He walks everywhere now within the last few days, and chatters like crazy. He is definitely not going to be a quiet, shy little boy. He can copy nearly every one syllable word there is, although he hasn't ventured on to more than that. :) He loves to play peek-a-boo (which consists of turning his head away from you, then back really fast. I guess if he can't see you... ) and hide the bop. He opens the sock drawer (yes he's still obsessed with socks) and hides his bop in there until you ask him where it is. Then he opens the drawer and grabs it out like he's the smartest little boy ever. Probably because thats what I tell him every time. :) He's growing up so fast. It was hard to choose, but here are a few of my favorite pics through the year...
Brand new baby Cyrus.
Cyrus in his blessing tux I made, which he looked absolutely adorable in. People still talk about it. :)
3 months old and a spit up machine. Thank goodness that's over.
6 months old at the zoo.
9 months old playing in the snow.

10 months old playing potato heads with daddy.

Good Times, Bad Times

Happy Valentines Day!!

Okay, so I know were a little late, but we had the plague visit our house for a few weeks. As you can see in the next picture, the boys spent a lot of time sleeping. I had just finished making dinner for Cyrus thinking that he was grumpy because he was hungry, but apparently I was wrong. All he needed was a little daddy lovin and a nap.
I'm not even going to go in to details about what it involved. Believe me, you don't want to know. Thankfully the sickness has passed. Now if we could just get Travis a job...

On the other hand, it has been fun having him home. We were able to go to the Draper temple open house which was really fun. We've also been to the zoo, worked on some house projects, spent some time at the temple, and been able to hang out together with family and friends. That being said, I'm still looking forward to a day when I don't have to stress every second of every day about finances! I'm sure we're not the only ones praying for the economy to get better, so we'll bide our time and count our blessings while we try to stay hopeful and optimistic. :)

Cyrus' New Love!

So what's Cyrus' new favorite thing? He found the toilet paper, and not only does he love to unroll it, but his favorite thing is to tear it up into little tiny pieces and then eat them. Yum. He also loves pulling the tissues out of the Kleenex box, tearing up paper, napkins and paper towels. He also loves socks. He opens and empties the sock drawer, or steals them from me when I'm folding laundry.

He's also standing alone and trying to take steps, although his balance still isn't good enough to make it far without help before he falls over.

I also noticed this morning that his 2 middle teeth are working their way down! Thank goodness! No more hobo teeth! :) It's hard for him to feed himself with a big gap in the front. His spoon always gets caught on one of the side teeth. Ah... growing up.
