Cyrus' New Love!

So what's Cyrus' new favorite thing? He found the toilet paper, and not only does he love to unroll it, but his favorite thing is to tear it up into little tiny pieces and then eat them. Yum. He also loves pulling the tissues out of the Kleenex box, tearing up paper, napkins and paper towels. He also loves socks. He opens and empties the sock drawer, or steals them from me when I'm folding laundry.

He's also standing alone and trying to take steps, although his balance still isn't good enough to make it far without help before he falls over.

I also noticed this morning that his 2 middle teeth are working their way down! Thank goodness! No more hobo teeth! :) It's hard for him to feed himself with a big gap in the front. His spoon always gets caught on one of the side teeth. Ah... growing up.

Christmas...A little late

This Christmas morning was definitely our most favorite as a married couple. We woke Cyrus up at 6 and fed him, then started opening presents. As you can see in the pics he was tired, but extremely happy. Every present he got, even if it was just clothes, he was so excited for. I guess loving presents definitely starts early! :) We decided this was the best age for a baby's first christmas. He didn't quite understand all of it, but he loved every minute!

First Words...

For a few months now Cyrus has said da-da, ma-ma, and sometimes bye-bye, but now that he's getting bigger, here were his first "real" words.

1. LIGHT. Only Travis' son would look at the light switch and say light.
2. BOP. One day he was crying after falling and hitting something, and he kept crying "bop, bop" and as soon as I got it for him he was fine. It was cute.
3. GRAHAM CRACKER. Yep no kidding. Clear as day, 2 times. I think he's been holding out on us!
4. BRYKER. He loves his cousin, and they play really well together, especially lately.

I also just got back from the doctor today for his 9 month appointment. (We were a little late, he's a little closer to 10 months now. Oops) He got another A+ and here were his stats:

Weight: 20 lbs 4 oz (50th percentile, exactly average although you'd never guess by looking!)
Height: 29 1/2 inches (80th percentile, guess he's going to be tall)
His head was in the 40th percentile, small for his age, although you'd never guess that by looking either!

Grandma's Christmas Party

Every year on the Saturday before Christmas, my cute grandma has a big family Christmas party. We eat lunch and hang out, but her favorite part of the party is the program. Each family shows off their talents (things like favorite instruments, or songs). My brother usually takes care of it for our family because he has 3 kids, but because they're gone for Christmas this year, Amy and I had to think of something. Our kids can't do much, Cyrus crawls well and Jaron just kinda sits there, so we thought we'd try a reindeer pulling a sled. Santa was a little too heavy for the reindeer, but it was cute anyway. They were the stars of the show, and Cyrus loved all the attention.
Cyrus also got to open his first present, a Raggedy Andy my grandma made for him. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it. :)
