Go, Go, Go!

We have been ridiculously busy the last few weeks, so haven't taken many pictures. Travis has spent hours at his moms house putting in a sprinkling system and getting her yard leveled out so we could lay 14,000 sq ft. of sod! It took 3 days and LOTS of help, but looks absolutely awesome! I'm so excited for the kids to have somewhere to play thats softer than a floor filled with sticker weeds! Cyrus loved being outside for 3 straight days playing in the dirt. Give him a little shovel and he was good to go for hours. He loves the outside.

He's getting so big! He's still learning new things everyday. He loves to sing. Mostly "Once there was a snowman" and his favorite part is swaying back and forth, then putting his little hands that just reach over his big head and singing "ta, ta, ta!" My favorite part is when he melts. He makes a cute little puddle! :)

He also loves rocks, hugs, humming, and dancing. He hates tuna fish, long tickly grass, and hills (he tends to just roll right down them!)

He is also getting a strong personality! He had his first real kicking and screaming tantrum because he wanted to go outside, and I wouldn't take him because he'd just taken a bath. But he is extremely obedient, and after sitting in the corner for a minute he stopped. He's had a few since then (usually in the grocery store unfortunately!) but is still pretty good for his age. I also rarely get past 1 or 2 before he decides to listen. Lets hope that doesn't change!

Spring Catch Up

Happy Easter!

Easter was so fun for us! Saturday night I put some eggs out for Cyrus to find, and in the morning we took him in the living room and he was so excited to find the eggs. He was cute. Babies make holidays so much more fun! This was actually Cyrus' second Easter. Some of you may remember we were in the hospital with Cyrus over Easter and had the Easter bunny visit us there. How time flies!

For those of you who keep up with our blog regularly, we have been extremely busy this month. We went from Travis having no job and winter, to spring and all that comes with the nice weather. We are working with Travis' mom to get her a sprinkling system and lawn after 12 years of dirt and weeds, which is going to be awesome for her. I was made the second counselor in the Primary, and am glad to have Sunday over when I did my first sharingtime and we spoke in Sacrament. It all went well, but is always nice to have it finished. :)
And I passed my test! Hooray! On the 2 sections of the test I received a 95 and 86, which is good enough to pass, but I am also going to retake the lower score to see how much better I can do. It is nice to know I passed, and am getting that much closer to working at home. Yay! And it's so nice to have the nice weather here!
Cyrus and I just spent the morning blowing bubbles in the backyard, then spent some time with one of my awesome friends on their trampoline. Cyrus loved it, and it completely wore him out. He fell asleep in the stroller on the way home which he hasn't done since he was a baby. And he's still asleep!
Anyway, I wanted to share a few of the pictures we've taken. As I looked through the camera I noticed most of our pictures are messy eating ones since he's been wanting to be more independent, and learning to really use his forks and spoons. He also really loves to help his dad. He tried on his shoes and tried to help him put together my desk. He's getting so big and fun! And most people say kids turn into terrors when they start walking but I love it! He's so adorable following us around everywhere.

Happy Day!

Happy Birthday Cyrus!
Cyrus turned one on March 21st, so we had the family over and had a little party for him. After going a few nights without sleep, we ended up taking Cyrus in to the doctor that day and found out he had an ear infection. It was a little sad he had to be sick on his birthday, but after some medicine and a nap, he was feeling a lot better, so we decided to go ahead with his party. I made him a potato head cake, and we had fruit cookies, cupcakes, and ice cream. He loved all of his toys and clothes, and we were glad most of our family was able to come and spend the evening with us.
You can tell he still wasn't feeling 100%, he has this exact same face in most of his pictures. This was one of my favorite little outfits I was able to find for him.
Travis helped him blow out his candle.
He was pretty excited about his cake. I thought he would devour it, but he wasn't used to being able to eat like that. I guess that's what we get for trying to teach him to eat without making a big mess.

After only a few bites, he was really worried about his sticky hands, and was ready to be cleaned up. :)
We had an awesome week. Travis was able to find a job! Hallelujah! After nearly 3 months of unemployment we were all ready for it. He started his first day yesterday, and really enjoys it. I also was able to take my final test last week after almost 2 years of schooling. I won't find out my score for another week, but hope I did well enough to find a nice job working at home. I'm really looking forward to being a good mom, and keeping busy at home making some extra mula!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
